Norfolk -- All Virginia Port Authority marine terminals are open as of 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29. The following is an updated list of terminal operations:
-- APM Terminals opened at 6 a.m. and is operating as normal.
-- Newport News Marine Terminal opened at 7 a.m. and is operating as normal.
-- Norfolk International Terminals opened at 8 a.m. is operating as normal expect for some delays at the truck gates that are the result of interrupted power. Scheduled vessel operations and breakbulk receiving and delivery started at 8 a.m.
-- Portsmouth Empty Yard (PMT) opened at 6 a.m. and is operating as normal.
-- Norfolk Empty Yard (NIT) opened at 8 a.m. and there may be some delays as a result of power interruptions.
The VPA's terminal operating company, Virginia International Terminals Inc., is encouraging that container movements be directed to APMT and the Portsmouth Empty Yard until full power is restored at Norfolk International Terminals. Please refer to vit.org for updates to the NIT gate opening.
