Norfolk -- Jeff Keever, senior deputy executive director of the Virginia Port Authority, has been named chairman of the Virginia Offshore Wind (VOW) Coalition, a group dedicated to the development and promotion of the offshore wind energy industry in Virginia.
The VOW Coalition is diverse group composed of developers, manufacturers, utilities, localities, businesses organizations, environmental groups and individuals that all have an interest in offshore wind and the benefits it could bring to the state.
The VOW Coalition is dedicated to advancing initiatives that will promote the offshore wind energy industry in Virginia. These initiatives include developing a strong legislative agenda to bring the Virginia code into a state of greater competition with other East Coast states; actively engaging members of the offshore wind industry to encourage them to use Virginia as headquarters for their offshore wind enterprises; and being a conduit for grassroots outreach and a source of information on the offshore wind industry.
The other board members are: Mark Webb, of Dominion Virginia Power, vice chairman; Hank Hank Giffin, of SAIC, treasurer; Sally McNeilan of Fugro, secretary; and Larry Lombardi, City of Norfolk (at-large), locality.
